My favorite anecdote about Mohammad is the one where he cut off his sleeve so as not to disturb a cat who was sleeping.
Does anyone know what passage this is from?
thanks

The motif of the cut sleeve originates in China. During the Han dynasty (220-260 BCE ), the Emperor Ai (6BCE-1CE) inspired the poetic expression, "Tuan Hsiu" which translates as "Passion of the Cut Sleeve." One day, the story goes, the emperor woke up to find one of his beloved male concubines asleep on his sleeve. Unwilling to disturb the sleeping youth, the emperor cut the sleeve off his royal robe instead. Ever since, “Passion of the Cut Sleeve” has been a Chinese phrase used to describe male homoerotic love.
